About

Payable on Death, otherwise known as P.O.D. has recently emerged from a brief hiatus with the much-anticipated release of a deluxe edition of hit album "Murdered Love." Included among the many remixed tracks are bonus singles such as "Burn It Down" and "Find A Way." The band does not plan to go on tour in the immediate future, as its members see maintaining their current levels of mental health as a major priority over selling tickets. However, should any of their hard-rocking, head-banging future concerts occur, the focus would likely be on a return to P.O.D.'s roots as a Christian nu-metal band.
P.O.D. has a long history as a force for shaking up the often complacent world of Christian music. The group first formed in the early 90s, when Wuv Bernardo and Marcos Curiel came together for frequent jam sessions. These original members were quickly joined by the equally talented Gabe Portillo and Sonny Sandoval. Given Sandoval's transition to Christianity in the aftermath of his mother's death, it came as little surprise when the band - previously dedicated to Metallica covers - began playing songs that were clearly religious in nature. Their early Christian rock successes include such hit albums as "Snuff The Punk" and "Brown" in the mid 90s, which were later followed by "The Fundamental Elements of Southtown" and "Satellite." More recently, the band released "Murdered Love," a hit album that reached No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in 2012. "A Murdered Love" tour has yet to take place, but, based on the recent release of "Murdered Love Deluxe," it could be a definite possibility in the near future.

Been a fan since I was little and P.O.D. did not disappoint! This was my first live experience with them and it definitely won't be the last. Best part was hearing the band give glory to God and watching Sonny feeling the words He was singing.

From Beginning to End the show stayed consistent. Full of energy, engaged with the crowd. P.O.D is already a great band, but man, did this show bring me back to life. I can't wait until they return...

  • P.O.D. and Norma Jean in Houston

by Vmattic on 6/2/24House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Second time seeing POD and these guys are just fantastic. They bring such a great energy to the stage. They balance songs that blow the doors off the place and songs that touch the soul. Highly recommend seeing POD. Norma Jean opened for them along with Bad Wolves and Blind Channel. Norma Jean was incredible. I felt like we saw something special watching the Norma Jean guys rock out.

Was a event for the books! HOB was on point to support the fantastic performances. Clean space, super crisp sound, and I had a great view no matter where i was.All bands gave a great show. Songs were discovered by all and classics were as good as ever. I saw P.O.D. first time 20 years ago and they were seasoned to perfection! Wish I could have a replay and go again!

by 90’s Music on 5/28/24Uptown Theater Minneapolis - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Loved seeing this show at the Uptown theater in Minneapolis along with Bad Wolves. All the bands had great energy and gave it everything even at such a small venue with maybe 400 people.

Idk, The uptown is fine, just hard concrete everywhere, Do you want to sit and rest for a few minutes? they’ll gladly upgrade you$ Usher and security seem pretty aggressive. IMHO. Please, the pandemic is over. Bring back cash!

  • P.O.D. REVIEW

by Alex on 5/28/24Uptown Theater Minneapolis - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The meet and greet was very cool. P.O.D. put on a great concert. Blind channel was good , Norman Jean sucked(to scream-o) bad wolves was ok. Didn’t like the new lead singer. His grill in this mouth was weird and he was trying to make the crowd entertain them. In my opinion he wasn’t trying too hard. Other than that the drummer from bad wolves gave me a drum stick which was really cool.
